SANDAKAN: A family was lucky to escape unhurt when their wooden PPR (Program Perumahan Rakyat) house in a water village in Batu Sapi collapsed into the water on Friday (pic).
The Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department rushed five rescuers to Kampung Bokara upon receiving a distress call at 3.05pm.
It was learnt that the incident happened due to the house’s rotten poles.
The 20 feet by 50 feet house was 100 per cent damaged after collapsing into the water.
All the house dwellers comprising a couple and their five children escaped unscathed and the loss due to the incident is under investigation.
