Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman admits he is "concerned" about Lionel Messi's contract situation.
Messi is currently a free agent after his Barca deal expired on June 30.
Koeman said: "When everything is not solved, you have to be concerned. I have full confidence in the president to fix this issue. It is very important for the club and also for LaLiga that the best player in the world remains.
"We all have to make an effort so that he stays. Each one defends his own task. (Joan) Laporta told me yesterday to be calm, that they are working and have the confidence to reach an agreement with Leo to continue for a few more years and on the issue of LaLiga."
