Everton attacker James Rodriguez has hit out at the way he has been treated.
James angered many Everton fans when confessing on a Twitch stream last week that he was unaware of who they were facing this weekend.
Reacting to the backlash, James blames the Colombian press for reporting on his comments before Everton's 2-2 draw at Leeds United.
He said, "You have to be careful around here.
"The press always talks, only that I had doubts about who we were playing and I simply asked a question, I had doubts between two teams and I asked, and you know that they always get what they sell the most, that's how the press is in our beloved Colombia, they always get the bad, but hey, it is part of my job to live the day to day that they always bring out everything that is bad.
"They have to protect you instead of taking you out for the war, but hey, this has been part of my life for a couple of years and I'm used to all this."
