Real Madrid players are hopeful the club can sign PSG striker Kylian Mbappe this month.

Marca reports the optimism that exists inside Valdebebas echoes the optimism inside the board room over the possibility of bringing the French forward to the Spanish capital.

With Karim Benzema having developed a close bond with Mbappe at Euro 2020 and with Sergio Ramos now at PSG, the Real Madrid players have access to privileged information as this story develops.

Toni Kroos' latest comments showed the expectation that exists in the dressing room, as the midfielder hinted that Lionel Messi's move to Paris Saint-Germain makes it more likely that Mbappe will be allowed to leave.

"We will see how everything goes," Kroos said on the Einfach mal Luppen podcast, which he appears on with his brother.

"The move may be good for us because our biggest rivals have lost their best player. And something even better may come out of it as a consequence. Maybe a player from Paris will join us... I don't know."

Mbappe has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid for some time, but the current Los Blancos players know that it is closer than ever to actually happening.

His arrival would bring a huge boost in confidence and would significantly help Real Madrid in their pursuit of titles. The current members of Carlo Ancelotti's squad know how significant the forward's arrival would be.
