Barcelona president Joan Laporta is aiming to announce the re-signing of Lionel Messi on Thursday.
The Barca captain returned from his extended holiday earlier this week, but remains a free agent with his new contract yet to be inked.
Terms over a five-year deal have been agreed for some days. However, Barca and Messi cannot pen forms as the club cannot fit him under their salary cap.
But news that a fresh cash injection has arrived courtesy of the LaLiga's deal with the CVC investment fund has opened the door to Messi now being secured.
Mundo Deportivo says Laporta wishes to announce the deal on Thursday ahead of the weekend's Gamper Trophy against Juventus.
Indeed, Laporta wants everything in place so Messi can address fans before the game.
