Manchester City are preparing to unveil statues of Vincent Kompany and David Silva outside their Etihad Stadium.

City host Arsenal on August 28 and the statues are expected to be formally presented.

The Mirror says they're ready to be revealed to the public before the match starts.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is thought to have been a key driver in the club's move to commemorate the pair's service to the club, with Sergio Aguero's statue already commissioned after he left for Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

Both Kompany and Silva are thought to be chuffed about the gesture, which will see their statues placed by the East Stand of the stadium.
