Sergi Busquets and Barcelona have found an agreement over a wage reduction.
Marca says Busquets reach an agreement with Barcelona to reduce his salary, as the midfielder looks to help his club's precarious financial situation.
The agreement was reached during a meeting on Wednesday morning between Jose Maria Orobitg, the player's agent, and Barcelona CEO Mateu Alemany, but there remain some loose ends to be tied up.
Busquets will have a 25 percent pay cut as he follows in the footsteps of Jordi Alba, who agreed a pay cut of the same percentage on Monday.
The 33-year-old will no longer gain a bonus for certain tasks that are deemed routine at the club, such as Champions League qualification, and he will also defer part of his salary in the coming years.
