Joan Laporta confidant Jaume Roures is adamant a deal between Barcelona and Lionel Messi was agreed.
It was announced last night that Messi was leaving Barca after the collapse of contract talks.
But Roures, the founder of Mediapro and a supporter of Laporta during this year's election, told RAC1: "I can reliably assure, because I have it verified, that the issue of Messi's registration in LaLiga was fully agreed and agreed for days, something else was affecting other players."
Roures added that "48 hours ago the agreement was ready to be announced, but something has happened.
"I don't know what happened."
