Aston Villa striker Danny Ings admits they were poor for defeat to Watford.
Ings struck on his Villa debut as they lost 3-2.
He said, "In the two halves we looked like two different teams. There was not a good rhythm in the first half and we got punished. In the second half there was a good reaction.
"We gave ourselves too much of an uphill battle in the first half to come back. We need to improve and have a solid week going into the next game.
"It is good for the confidence [to score] but I never like to speak about scoring when we lose the game."
