Valencia striker Goncalo Guedes was delighted with victory over Alaves.
Guedes struck in the 3-0 win.
He later said: “Collectively, it was a great game. We did exactly what the coach asked of us. We go home very happy, because we enjoyed the game. We were intense and we started the way that we had planned at the beginning of the week.
“I think that we did things well throughout the week and during the game. Things worked out well and it was a great game today. The three points are very important, and we go into the international break well placed in the table. That was the most important thing.
“We knew that Deportivo Alavés had gone two games without scoring points, and we wanted to start strong. We scored a goal at the start, which makes things change. It was also important for us to score before half time, which helped us to be calmer. In the second half we knew that if we came out strong in the first 15 minutes and scored, we could kill the game off -and that's what we did."
