Norway assistant coach Kent Bergersen admits they're following Martin Odegaard's situation at Real Madrid.

There's doubts over Odegaard's place in Real coach Carlo Ancelotti's new season plans amid talk of a return to Arsenal before this month's transfer deadline.

Bergersen admit Norway's management team are watching their captain's progress in preseason closely.

He told VG: "He has got his minutes in the run-up. It is just over three weeks until we gather (Norway meets the Netherlands on 1 September and Latvia on 4 September).

"It is the same for Martin as for all the others, we hope he will get as much matches as possible before our games. We are following with excitement how much playing time he will get."
