Barcelona president Joan Laporta will speak to the media on Friday morning after it was announced Lionel Messi's contract would not be renewed.
Barcelona announced on Thursday that Lionel Messi will leave the club because they cannot overcome the financial hurdles put in their way by LaLiga.
The statement was released after Laporta and his vice president Rafa Yuste had met with Messi's father and agent, Jorge.
The news came as a shock because both parties has reached an agreement for Messi to extend his contract with the club by an additional five years.
Barça have now announced that Laporta will appear in a news conference on Friday at 11am CET to speak about how the situation came to this point.
