Aston Villa are stepping up their efforts to sign Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe.
The Red Devils want Tuanzebe to sign a new contract before leaving the club on loan.
It is believed United also want a £5m loan fee for the 23-year-old.
The Express & Star says Villa boss Dean Smith is pushing the club to complete the loan deal.
Tuanzebe excelled under Smith at Villa Park during a loan spell in the 2018/19 season.
Newcastle have also been linked with the United academy graduate.
