Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Marcus Rashford is happy with his shoulder surgery.

It was decided over the summer that the Manchester United forward would undergo the procedure after struggling with the shoulder issue towards during most of last season and during the summer's European Championships with England.

The striker is optimistic of getting back onto the pitch by October, with Solskjaer claiming he is already doing gym work to stay fit during his rehabilitation.

Speaking about Rashford, Solskjaer told a press conference this week: "He seemed very happy with the surgery. He's working in the gym, we see him every day, so he'll be chomping at the bit when it gets nearer to the time when he can come back.

"Of course, any time you're off with an injury is a hard time but it's also time to reflect and find yourself again. That's what we hope is going to happen to Marcus."
