Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of Adam Armstrong from Blackburn Rovers.
The Championship striker is a hot property after his exploits last term, with Rovers looking to net roughly £20 million from his sale.
According to Sky Sports News, Palace will have to up their existing offer to secure Armstrong.
The south London club are the favourites to sign him in the coming days, but fellow Premier League club Southampton are also being linked.
The Saints lost star striker Danny Ings to Aston Villa this week, which may mean they are in the market for a new forward.
Rovers boss Tony Mowbray said on Thursday: "Adam knows the number. Everyone has a valuation and I don't think we are being unrealistic.
"I've said to Adam, if they meet the number he can go. We'll shake him by the hand and wish him well, and the football club will move on and hopefully find a replacement that can make the fans forget Adam pretty quickly."
