Villarreal coach Unai Emery insists they deserved more from their 0-0 draw with Granada last night.

Juan Foyth saw red for the stalemate.

Emery said, “Insufficient result for the hard work that the players put in for the 90 minutes. In the first half, we found it hard to adjust to a team who press very well. From there, we created three or four goalscoring chances. In the second half, we had the ball well, and they didn't have as much. The second yellow card conditioned us and left us in a dangerous situation."

Emery was pleased with the Submarine's performance throughout the 90 minutes: “Throughout the game, the team did enough in the first half to win it. I would have liked the team to be more fluid and have more continuity in the way we played. There were a lot of interruptions. The final result leaves us unsatisfied, as we were unable to win the first game at our stadium."

Finally, the Basque manager also spoke about the sending off of Foyth: “I can understand it, but I don't think the two challenges are yellow cards. It seems an exaggeration to me, but you have to work hard and help the referees."
