Villarreal's draw with Atletico Madrid on Sunday ended with a furious post-match clash.
This was confirmed by referee Soto Grado in his match report, who recounted two serious incidents.
He wrote: "After finishing the match and finding ourselves in the dressing room tunnel, we witnessed a discussion between coaches and players from both teams."
A discussion in which, Villarreal assistant coach Imanol Idiakez was the protagonist.
"We see him dealing with a local manager aggressively and having to be held by members of his team."
In the other incident, the protagonist was from Atletico.
"In the same way," writes Soto Grado, "we witnessed another incident where a person from the local club identified by the authorities as Mr. Pedro Tomás Reñones Crego hits the mouth of a member of the visiting coaching staff with his hand."
In the post-match presser, Villarreal coach Unai Emery revealed that he'd spent half an hour "kicking the wall", before taking questions.
