Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce says the club are not in talks with midfielder Sean Longstaff about a new contract.
Bruce says Longstaff was offered a new contract in 2019 that he declined to sign at the time.
No new talks have taken place, according to Bruce, with both Sean and his brother Matt Longstaff's contracts set to expire at the end of this season.
Bruce said on BBC Radio Newcastle: "I knew about Sean before I came here.
"There was a contract offered to him, but those talks have not been revisited.
"We hope he can go out and show us what he's got."
