Chelsea and Villarreal took the final to penalties after the score finished 1-1. Kepa Arrizabalaga saved twice in the shootout to see Chelsea win the 2021 Super Cup.
Afterwards, Tuchel admitted the fact that his players needed to play 120 minutes and had a penalty shootout to get the job done, means it was the worst thing that could happen to them from a physical point of view.
