The Red Devils are believed to still want a central midfielder to complete their summer transfer activity.
Wolves star Neves had been touted as a potential target by the Old Trafford club.
However, the Daily Mail says United have now moved on from the Portugal star.
Arsenal have also been linked to 24-year-old Neves.
It is believed Paul Pogba is likely to stay at United this summer due to PSG's acquisition of Lionel Messi.
This could lead to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moving on from signing another midfielder altogether.
