Manchester City are being urged to turn to Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid Tottenham's refusal to sell Harry Kane.

The Citizens are very eager to secure a strike before the transfer window closes, having lost Sergio Aguero on the expiry of his contract this summer.

While Spurs unwilling to sell Kane for a price lower than £150 million, ex-Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas thinks Aubameyang may be a better option.

Nicholas told the 'Where's Jeff' podcast: "[City] could go for someone like Aubameyang.

"It looks like something is going wrong at Arsenal at the moment, and we do know Aubameyang scores goals. He's got pace, and he's got movement.

"I prefer him on the left, but I could see something like that materialise. It gives Manchester City a cheaper option. He's not as good as Kane, but he's as good a finisher as Kane."
