Ronaldo's move to United from Juventus was confirmed by both clubs today.
However, Radio Cataluyna says before committing to United, Ronaldo was offered to Barca by agent Jorge Mendes.
Despite his ties to Real Madrid, Ronaldo approved Mendes' approach to the Catalans.
Mendes made a direct call to Barca president Joan Laporta, but the proposal was immediately rejected given the club's financial problems and also the politics around Lionel Messi's exit for PSG.
