Former Inter Milan GM Marco Branca says they tried everything to sign Lionel Messi as a teenager.
Messi signed for PSG on Tuesday after his release by Barcelona.
Branca recalled: “He was 16 or 17 years old when we tried to sign Messi at Inter, but there was nothing to be done, because he was so fond of Barcelona.
“We tried everything possible, but realised he and his family felt enormous gratitude towards Barcelona, so there was absolutely no chance."
