Manchester United midfielder Amad has suffered an injury setback.

Amad is set to miss out on a loan move to Feyenoord after suffering an injury in training.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the exciting teenager was to be sent out on loan, with opportunities likely to be limited following the summer captures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

The United boss didn't say which club the 19-year-old would be joining - but now Feyenoord's technical director Frank Arnesen has said a deal was in the bag until Amad picked up an injury.

"He got injured, it's cancelled," said Arnesen.

“Too bad - everything was done. I've talked a lot with the people at Manchester United, but it's more sensible to let him recover at that club.

He added: "It may be a while before he comes back."
