New Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal showed his famous modesty by suggesting he was the only serious option for the job.
The former Bayern Munich and Manchester United manager is back in the Dutch hotseat after his previous spell during the 2014 World Cup - when they finished third.
Speaking at his unveiling, Van Gaal said: "I'm not doing this for myself but I'm doing it to help Dutch football.
"I've always done everything to help Dutch football.
"I have a lot to thank them for, the status that I have as a coach is thanks to them.
"I think if I was the Dutch football association, I'd also have approached me. Who else could have done it?
"It might sound a little melodramatic, but I think experience is now very important because we do not have any time.
"We have to achieve immediately and you cannot do that without fit players.
"In 2000 it was a honour to be appointed coach, in 2012 it was an honour to serve again but now it is even more of an honour."
