Ajax football chief Marc Overmars wants to return to Arsenal, it has been revealed.
Former Gunners teammate Ray Parlour made the revelation when discussing technical director Edu's position at Arsenal.
Speaking to a Gunners fan who asked about the role Edu plays at Arsenal, Parlour said on talkSPORT: "Obviously he worked in Brazil, even Marc Overmars - I've had a text off him before saying 'Oh Ray, I need to go back to that club and sort it out.'"
He added: "Edu, they've gone with Edu. It's a very important role you have got to play. Recruitment is so important, it's very, very important for any club. I don't know what the relationship is like with Mikel Arteta, I have not been around the guys.
"I know Edu as a player, and he's played in winning teams. He probably knows what they need, but it's whether they can get them or not. When you're not in Europe, how do you attract players?
"Because everyone wants to play in the Champions League or the Europa League. It's very difficult, you sometimes have to pay over the odds, and they probably have done for a few players."
