Barcelona president Joan Laporta admits Lionel Messi is upset over his departure.
It was announced last night that Messi was leaving Barca after the collapse of contract talks.
Laporta addressed the media this morning: "Leo wanted to stay and he's not happy.
"We all wanted him to stay and now he is faced, like us, with reality. I wish him and his family the best.
"Barça is his home, he has made the club's trophy cabinet bigger than anyone."
