Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl admits holding talks with Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
Hasenhuttl tried to sign Sancho for RB Leipzig before the then Manchester City youth teamer joined Borussia Dortmund.
He recalled: "I know Jadon very well. We were once sat around a table when we wanted to bring him to RB Leipzig, and we met each other in London to negotiate with him.
"But we hadn't been big enough as a club for him. We were on the right players, I think!
"I definitely wanted to have him in Leipzig, he would have fit perfectly into our very speed orientated game.
"But finally, he decided to go to Dortmund, which was very disappointing, but he has shown his qualities."
