Valencia coach Jose Bordalas admits he needs to strengthen his squad before the market shuts.
Bordalas was speaking after their shootout victory against AC Milan in their preseason friendly last night.
He said, "It is true that there are few dates left for the championship to begin. We are in contact with the president so that those players that we need arrive as soon as possible.
"If we talk about the situation right now, a midfielder is a very important need for the team."
Asked about the future of Daniel Wass, Bordalas added: "Daniel is doing quite well. He has been able to train little. He is a player we have and we hope he will get well soon to face this season."
