Tottenham are closing on a deal for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
The Uruguay international is eager to leave Cagliari this month and has seen a move to Inter Milan blocked.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport says a move to England could now be on with Spurs keen.
Spurs have opened talks with Cagliari for Nandez, though have baulked at the Sardinians' current €36m asking price.
Instead, Spurs would prefer to take Nandez on a season-long loan for €5m with a permanent option included. Negotiations are continuing today.
