Tottenham are entering negotiations with Villarreal regarding centre-back Pau Torres.
Spanish journalist Veronica Brunati suggests that Torres, who was involved for Villarreal against Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup this week, is someone Spurs are eager to sign.
Spurs are working hard to convince striker Harry Kane to stay at the club, amid interest from Manchester City.
They have already secured Cristian Romero from Atalanta to refresh their aging back line.
Brunati tweeted about the situation: "#ManCity prepares a 150 million euro offer for Harry Kane. The player wants to leave.
"#Tottenham at the same time he works on the hiring of Pau Torres, Villarreal defender."
