Roma sports chief Tiago Pinto has welcomed new signing Tammy Abraham.

The England striker has been signed from Chelsea for an initial fee of €40m.

Pinto stated: "Despite being a very young player, with enormous room for growth, Tammy has already played more than 200 games and scored more than 100 goals, winning several important titles.

“The decision to leave the Premier League and the team of his city shows with facts how much the boy deeply believes in the challenge of growing and doing well for Roma.

"Bringing players who want to wear our jersey to the club is really very important for the identity and belonging that we consider fundamental in our vision of the club."
