Mainz chiefs are considering cutting short the Crystal Palace loan of Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The striker has struggled to adapt at Palace since his January arrival on-loan from Mainz. The deal runs to the end of this season.
Mainz chief Christian Heidel admits they're keeping tabs on Mateta's progress in London.
"If the situation does not improve at all by winter, then we may have to talk to Crystal Palace about whether there are other options," said Heidel to Sport1.
Mateta's loan includes a €15m permanent option.
