Brighton manager Graham Potter was happy with his side's battling effort to grab a point against Crystal Palace.

The Albion were not at their best in the Monday night Premier League fixture, when a win would have taken them top of the table.

A Wilfried Zaha penalty gave Palace a first half lead, but Brighton came back to tie the game in the last minute through Neal Maupay.

He said, per The Argus: "It is a difficult place to come and to play. We are happy with the point.

"Performance wise, we can do better, and we were far from perfect, but we deserved something from the game.

"Once it is over, no one cares how you played once it is over. It is all about results.

"We know we can improve, which is exciting."

Potter added: "It is not something we think too much about, what the table says after six games.

"I think it is more important that we have played six games and have thirteen points, that is more than two points per game.

"It gives us a good foundation. We know we can do better and improve but at the same time, we have to credit the players, they keep going, and their resilience is really good."
