Villarreal defender Pau Torres had agreed personal terms with Tottenham last summer, it has been revealed.
AS says the Spain international was ready to joins Spurs before the start of the new season.
The 24-year-old had reached an agreement with Spurs over personal terms, but in the end pulled out of the move as he preferred to “wait for a better offer".
Ultimately, Torres remained with Villarreal, where he is contractually bound until 2024.
It's suggested the defender will seek to leave the Yellow Submarine at the end of the season.
