Barcelona president Joan Laporta insists there's no rush to enter new contract talks with coach Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman's current deal expires at season's end and Laporta says he can count on the confidence of the board.

He told Esport3, "We are at the start of the season, there are no easy games, we have a lot of absentees.

"We played well against Real, San Mamés is complicated and not many people are going to win and against Getafe it cost us more. What matters is that we won.

I've talked to Koeman, I've always talked to my coaches and he has my full support and respect. He knows that the Cruyff model is indisputable at Barça. Maybe I got caught up in informal conversation at times. "

"There is no deadline for the renewal of Koeman's contract. The message is to be strong. With Memphis, he succeeded and he will succeed with (Luuk) De Jong."
