Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is keen for Carney Chukwuemeka to build on his Premier League debut.
The 17-year-old was handed his first Premier League start for their 1-1 draw with Brentford.
“It was his first start so we had high hopes," Smith said.
“He's a calm and collected lad, we knew he'd be able to handle it and he didn't let anyone down.
“He tired as the game went on but he's learning from the likes of Ashley Young who showed his versatility today by playing in midfield."
