Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp denies the average age of his squad is a problem.

Jordan Henderson turned 31 in June and signed an extension with the Reds last month, he joined Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Fabinho and Alisson as players to commit their future to the club.

For the Champions League and Premier League-winning manager, he believes there is still more success to squeeze out of his squad.

He said: "People say 'yeah they're not getting younger' that's true but if you now start saying people or footballers who are old when they are 28 or 29 or something like that, they're not. That's actually the peak, the best age to perform it has nothing to do with other clubs.

"For us it's now very important this team is in a really good age group performance-wise, it's not like they can play together for the next 10 years and they shouldn't but we have another three, four really good years with the more experienced players ahead and we already have good young players already in the squad as well who are performing and did their job already."
