Real Madrid's attempt to prise Kylian Mbappe away from PSG went right to the Emir of Qatar.
Real Madrid had one bid of €160m rejected by PSG last week before returning over the weekend with a new offer of €170m plus €10m in bonuses.
However, both proposals were rejected by PSG, with Real's second and final offer going right to the Royal Palace and Tamim ben Hamad al-Thani.
L'Equipe reports "The last word was the Emir. The sovereign listened to the positions of the pros and cons but finally stayed on his initial line: it was not a matter of depriving himself of the opportunity to live a season with the dream trio Messi-Mbappé-Neymar. Even if it means sitting on an XXL offer and the simple will of his goalscorer."
