England manager Gareth Southgate has postponed talks about a new contract.

The Three Lions boss was expected to sign an extension after helping the team to the Euro 2020 final.

Southgate has been in charge for five years and has 14 months remaining on his deal.

However, he believes his future is not a big issue, and he would rather wait until the World Cup Qualifiers are over before sitting down to talk about the future.

Asked if his contract situation was a topic of conversation among the players, Southgate said, per the Daily Mail: "I would have thought they couldn't care less!

"They aren't bothered who the manager is at club or country. One comes, one goes. They get on with it.

"So, no, it's not a distraction in any way, shape or form.

"I've got 14 months and if you can get through 14 weeks as a manager you have done well, so it really isn't an issue.

"I enjoy working with the team and I imagine that we won't even discuss that until after the autumn now."
