Arsenal have officially completed the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna.
The 22-year-old is the sixth signing for the Gunners this summer, arriving on deadline day.
Arsenal are paying roughly £19.75 million for the Japanese international defender.
Tomiyasu will wear the number 18 at the Gunners, as captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wears his preferred no.14.
Manager Mikel Arteta said: "Takehiro is a strong defender with good experience in Serie A and at international level.
"He's a versatile defender with great defensive qualities, high technical ability and composure on the ball.
"He will be an important member of our squad. We look forward to Takehiro joining up with us when he returns from international duty."
