Brighton defender Dan Burn hailed the team's kids after their Carabao Cup win against Swansea City.

The win saw Haydon Roberts, Marc Leonard and Taylor Richards get more first team minutes under their belts, while there were senior debuts for Ed Turns and Jeremy Sarmiento.

“To come away with a clean sheet just shows how good the lads were," Burn said. “Swansea are a very good team, but our gameplan worked really well. Our young lads were brilliant, the two young centre halves did really well.

“Progress in the competition means more games for the lads who aren't playing every week. Winning breeds confidence and last season we put in some really good performances and maybe didn't get the results.

“But we're doing the same this year – we got a bit lucky at the weekend against Leicester – and we're stringing results together. Everyone is really confident, wanting the ball and working hard for each other."
