Ajax chief Marc Overmars admits goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to leave.

Off contract in June, Onana will be free to play again in November after serving a doping ban.

Onana has been linked with Arsenal and Inter Milan and Overmars told Ziggo Sport: "Currently we are not working on the contract extension, we have tried, but it has not worked.

"You make decisions and then you have to see how it goes on both sides. We don't think he really wants to extend. I read somewhere that we withdrew from the negotiations and that is correct.

"We do this for a reason. If he leaves this winter you must get a good amount. Otherwise he will leave free next July."
