Everton have received a boost as new signing Salomon Rondon is not going to Venezuela for their World Cup Qualifiers.
The forward signed for the Toffees on a free transfer from Dalian Professional in China, primarily as he wanted to play for ex-boss Rafa Benitez.
Rondon is his nation's all-time top scorer with 31, but prioritised his club ahead of country.
He did not want to miss Everton matches after the international break, as he would have to quarantine when returning to the UK, per COVID-10 protocols.
"I'm sorry I can't defend the colours of the @SeleVinotinto in this call," he said on social media.
"You know how much it hurts not to be with you but I trust my teammates and I hope to play with them soon "
