Liverpool are ready to open new contract talks with Naby Keita.

Calciomercato.com says Keita - who completed a £52million move from RB Leipzig to Liverpool in 2017 - has just two years remaining on his contract at Anfield.

Liverpool are looking to extend Keita's contract after they came under fire for allowing Gini Wijnaldum to depart for nothing.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was said to be a long-term admirer of the Guinea international. However, the LaLiga manager was not convinced about making a move given his form at Liverpool.

Keita has made four appearances for the Reds this season but speculation over the midfielder's future remains.
