The downside to arrival of Ronaldo at Old Trafford

FORMER Bulgarian and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford may leave some of his team-mates unhappy since their playing time is going to be greatly reduced.

Berbatov says Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are two who are going to fell hard done by since the return of the talismatic Portuguese striker.

A healthy return of three goals in two games from Ronaldo has the fans excited and looking at the possibility of a real tilt at the league title.

Berbatov is least surprised at the immediate impact by Ronaldo and contends that he will only get better as the season moves along.

Ronaldo has had the fans buzzing with his aura and goalscoring while the matter of Cavani and Martial will be the least of their worry if he continues with his current form.

Berbatov would like to see how manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keeps his other strikers happy with Ronaldo being the automatic choice upfront.

"This is when managing a talented squad becomes difficult because players will feel hard done by."

He believes Cavani will be disappointed as he had great first season with United and hopes Solskjaer sorts it out with the Uruguayan.

"No one is happy when left out of the team," said Berbatov. - Agencies, September 17, 2021
