Liverpool forward Sadio Mane believes their previous achievements are being forgotten as the club is underestimated as title contenders.

The Reds were quiet in the transfer market this summer, failing to sufficiently freshen up their central midfield and forward options for manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Mane believes the returns of Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip, and Joe Gomez will help immensely, and he believes that people should not forget the quality of the team when everyone is fully fit.

"In football, things move on very quickly and people forget the past," he said, per the Liverpool Echo.

"It's a shame, but that's how it is.

"People aren't always talking about what we have won up to today, and there's no excuse for relaxing in pursuits of our goals.

"Of course, the experiences of last season have given all of us even more motivation, and all of us are really fired up to have a terrific season this time around. We were all very keen to get the season underway."
