Mohamed Salah is demanding stunning money to remain with Liverpool.

The Mirror says Salah has demanded £500,000-a-week to become the last Liverpool star to commit his long-term future to the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

It comes after Reds boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the club are in talks to extend his contract, which has less than two years left to run.

The 29-year-old is already one of the highest earners at Anfield and a new deal would make him the best paid player in the club's history, eclipsing Vigil Van Dijk's new £220,000-a-week contract.

Klopp is anxious for Salah to follow the likes of Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson in committing to the Anfield club

"Mo is obviously in a really, really good moment football-wise, mood-wise," Klopp said. "How he behaves from the first day he came back has been absolutely great.

"So we're all adults, we're all professionals. There are talks and there are more talks and when there is a final decision, we will tell you. Until then, it is only important how the parties work together in these things."
