Karim Benzema admits he's disappointed Real Madrid didn't sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Real had several offers for Mbappe rejected by PSG in the final days of the summer market, with the final proposal being €170m plus €10m in bonuses.

Benzema, at his France presser, said: "That Real Madrid wants to sign him is no longer a secret. I wish he could come this year, but as I said, sooner or later he will come to Real."

The Real Madrid striker was also questioned why the attacking trio he formed with Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann did not run as expected.

"It's not a matter of whether it works or not. On the pitch, you have to be decisive. Having players of that calibre, you don't need to work with them all year long. You have to perform on the pitch and make the right choices."
