Afterwards, Bees manager Thomas Frank said: "We went toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in Europe. We have a well-earned point and were very brave throughout the game.
"Where Liverpool are the most dangerous, is on the counter-attacks and they are committing so many runners forward. We also want to go high and be brave but at times we were a little bit too open.
"Both teams wanted to go for the win. We all know it's a massive point for us against a top team but we wanted to go for the win and Liverpool will go for the win always.
"In general we wanted to play a bit more but we were playing against one of the best pressing teams in England and Europe."
